All season long it has been next man up for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish senior football team.
In Thursday’s Niagara Catholic Athletic Association championship game against the visiting Saint Michael Mustangs it was more of the same.
When Irish touchdown machine Justin Savoie went down in the first quarter with an upper body injury, Grade 11 player Everett Hemauer had to step up and be the primary ball carrier.

Dylan Correia helped set the tone early for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Thursday.
The 17-year-old, Grade 12 student picked off an errant pass deep in enemy territory and ran it in for a touchdown as the Irish blanked the Saint Paul Patriots 44-0 in a Niagara Catholic Athletic Association senior boys football playoff semifinal at Notre Dame..

Notre Dame head coach Tim Bisci wasn’t overly impressed Friday afternoon after his senior football team clinched first place and home field advantage throughout the Niagara Catholic Athletic Association playoffs with a 15-6 road victory over the Saint Michael Mustangs.
“There’s a lot of bad that needs to be corrected,” he told his team after it had pushed its record to 5-0 with its victory over the Mustangs (3-2).

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish senior boys football won the Battle of the Unbeaten Friday afternoon on their home field but it wasn’t pretty.
Despite turning the ball over five times on downs, the Irish improved to 4-0 in Niagara Catholic Athletic Association play with a 16-2 victory over the Blessed Trinity Thunder (3-1) to give head coach Tim Bisci a birthday present.
