At the top of the itinerary for Chris Balenovich’s days with the Grey Cup was a Friday afternoon visit to Notre Dame.
“It was the best five years of my life and my high school time was incredible,” said the Toronto Argonauts’ media relations manager. “It was all because of the sports that I played, the coaches, the teachers and my godmother and aunt was actually the guidance counsellor here. My formative years were so fantastic here at Notre Dame and they kind of made me who I am.”

November 23 couldn’t have been a more perfect day for a signing ceremony announcing Nyla Morabito’s full-ride gymnastics scholarship to NCAA Division 1 Utah State.
It has been 17 years to the day that the Grade 12 student at Notre Dame underwent heart surgery at the Hospital for Sick Children when she was seven months old for a condition called ALCAPA (anomalous left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery).

TThe Notre Dame Fighting Irish senior football team’s 16-game winning streak came to an end Wednesday night with a 24-22 loss to the Westmount Wildcats in the Southern Ontario Secondary Schools Association semifinals at McMaster University.
The program’s last loss came to Chaminade College in the 2019 Metro Bowl. The Irish were looking to win their third straight SOSSA Bowl and fourth in the past five seasons.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish senior girls basketball team rode the free throw shooting prowess of Emma Hemphill to a 71-67 victory over the visiting Blessed Trinity Thunder Friday afternoon in the Niagara Catholic Athletic Association AAA championship game.
Hemphill, who finished with 31 points to help offset the 37 points poured in by the Thunder’s Maggie Vukojev, went 3-4 from line to help the Irish grab a 69-68 advantage and then hit a pair of free throws with 6.5 seconds left in the game to close out the scoring. She finished 10-12 from the charity stripe.
