The Main Attraction
Niagara College appears to be the perfect fit in the classroom and on the court for Jenna Main.
The 17-year-old, Grade 12 student at Notre Dame has committed to Niagara for this fall where she is enrolled in the school’s new Honours Bachelor of Science in Nursing program and will also be suiting up for the women’s volleyball team.
Main was approached by Knights volleyball coach Steve Stone about playing for the school while awaiting acceptance for her schooling.

Lee commits to Gannon

Aaron Lee is natural born leader.
The 17-year-old, Grade 12 student at Notre Dame loves to act as a player/coach on the pitch, whether it’s from his natural fullback position or from centre-back.
“I’m a strong defender and very vocal,” the Pelham resident said. “If you come out to watch any of our games or practices, I’m constantly projecting my voice. I’m quite quick on the wing and I like to play fullback and get up and down the wing when I can and then track back and try and make a strong challenge. At centre-back I can see everything on the pitch and offer advice and tell my players while on the pitch what I see and give them best opportunity to do better.”

Wall of Fame 2024 Induction Ceremony
Four inducted into Notre Dame Wall of Fame

The Notre Dame Wall of Fame grew by four Friday morning during an induction ceremony at the Welland high school.
Joining the sports wall were Grey Cup champion Chris Van Zeyl, world field lacrosse silver medalist Vanessa VanderZalm, U SPORTS basketball champion Scott Murray and cheer coach Karen Wallace.
The wall, established in 1986 during the school’s 50th anniversary celebrations, honours any Notre Dame alumnus who has attained outstanding recognition or superior accomplishments in a school sport. It is based on playing ability, integrity, sportsmanship, character and contribution to a team or teams at Notre Dame.
