Students with special needs who have been placed in the Special Education Classroom through the I.P.R.C (Identification, Placement and Review Committee) are supported through the Special Education Centre.  Each student follows a schedule catered to their own strengths, needs and interests as outlined in an Individual Education Plan.  Programming may include life skills, personal care, emerging academic skills as well as participation in classes of interest.  Staff works closely with community agencies and families to promote personal growth and the eventual transition to adult life.  Students are supported throughout the day by Special Education Teachers, Educational Assistants and Peer Tutors.

Special Education Teachers:

Resource Teachers are available throughout the day to support students in the Resource Room.  Students with an Individual Education Plan (IEP) will become well acquainted with the Resource Room as a place to get extra help and to use technology to complete their assignments; it is a quiet, comfortable environment where they can focus and complete work or tests without distractions. If your child has a learning difference or just needs a little more support, call us and see how we can help.
